Get your dance on

I'm obsessed with the electronic song "Infinity 2008" by English musician Guru Josh. Americans never really get into this kind of dance music, so I hadn't heard it until recently. I heard it during the chest track in Body Pump (release 70).

I feel like I'm at a club in Europe when I hear it. It's such a fun song, and it'll be great to run to too! I'm digging the Klaas remix too. There aren't words, but who needs them when you've got a good beat!

The best exercise shorts out there

[roadrunnersports.com]

The Nike Tempo Track Shorts are the best exercise shorts. I just can't get enough of them, and I've accumulated at least 12 pairs. I love that the shorts have a liner in them. The Dri-fit material is also very light and comfy. There's also a little pocket for you to put a key when you're running.

I work out about five times a week, and I wear these shorts for everything from weight training to running to yoga. These shorts don't ride up when running, which is crucial. They also keep me cool during heated yoga.

Nike is always coming out with cute new color combos too. Right now, nike.com has them on sale for $19.99 (reg. $28). Roadrunner also has them on sale for $21.95. Stock up while you can!

Gold's Gym wants to fight cankles

According to Urban Dictionary, a cankle is "the absence of a defined ankle on a person - whereby the calf of the leg merges directly into the foot. The calf appears to replace the ankle - hence the term 'cankle.'"

Gold's Gym has launched their Say No to Cankles campaign. This site is a hilarious must-see (yes, it's legit). Gold's offers advice for those suffering from cankles, such as walking or taking step classes. They also offer up fashion, such as avoid ankle straps and skinny jeans, and diet advice. This is so random!

BodyPump it up!

Oh how I love BodyPump. You get to work out your entire body in less than an hour, and you don't have to look like a fool while pretending to appear to know what you're doing in the weight section (aka man's section) of the gym. I've been taking this class since 2005, and it hasn't gotten old yet. It is distributed by Les Mills, who also does BodyStep, BodyFlow, BodyJam, etc. The class is available in over 70 countries around the world.

The songs are upbeat and loud. There is a new "release" every few months with brand new set of songs. You work out the following body parts for a whole song for a total of 10 tracks...

1. Warm-up
2. Squats
3. Chest
4. Back
5. Triceps
6. Biceps
7. Lunges
8. Shoulders
9. Abs
10. Cool-down

I prefer to take the 5:45 a.m. class twice a week. It's not as bad as you think, plus it's a great feeling to be done with your workout for the day.
