After being splashed all over the runways, harem pants are huge for spring. Harems are fitted at the waist and ankle but baggy everywhere else - think MC Hammer and I Dream of Jeannie. Though they are comfy, they can be disastrous if worn improperly. To avoid looking huge, these pants look best with fitted tops. A solid neutral color like black is the best way to go.
I like Anthropologie's Marrekech pants for $58 or Forever 21's shorter version (pictured) for $24. I wouldn't spend a fortune on this trend because like the gauchos of yesteryear, they will be out in a flash.
