I've noticed a lot of celebs wearing designer Prabal Gurung lately, including Rachel Weisz, Leighton Meester, Demi Moore and most recently Thandie Newton to the premiere of 2012. I wasn't entirely familiar with the designer, so I did some research.

Gurung launched his line in February 2009 during New York Fashion Week. He was born in Singapore and raised in Nepal. He studied fashion at New Dehli, India's Fashion Institute. He worked for Bill Blass for five years before launching his own collection.

According to his site he "fuses old-world technique with cutting edge modernity to create a daring yet timeless collection." In a review of Gurung's newest collection, Cathy Horyn of the New York Times said that he makes "sophisticated clothes...He is aware of fit. He can set a proper sleeve."

I must say that I like his color palate of mostly neutrals like black, white and tan with pops of color like bright red or blue. I also love the feminine bows and flowers. Learn more about the up-and-coming designer here.
