[j.crew.com]I just received the October 09 J.Crew catalog in the mail, and I was very impressed. I love the way they're mixing and matching prints and textures these days. They're also selling non-J.Crew products like Essie nail polish, Ray-Ban sunglasses, Timex watches, Selima Optique glasses, etc. Genius! Plus, tucked away in my catalog was a code for 10% off and free shipping with any purchase.
I always look forward to Creative Director Jenna Lyon's picks. My favorite item in her picks is Belstaff's 'leather bomber jacket.' At $1,195 it's definitely an investment piece. I'm also loving the cozy 'Donegal shawl cardigan' in the rose color ($148). The 'skinny studded belt' at $35 is a great buy that would go with so much.
Flipping through the magazine, I was also instantly smitten with the 'Birds of a Paradise' necklace (see it here, thanks ratsonparade!). However, I was a bit disturbed that it was selling for a whopping $795. Uhh, I don't think so. A more affordable jewelry find are the 'crystal soiree earrings' for $55. I would wear these versatile earrings to work or for a night out. They remind me of something I would find in my grandma's jewelry box.
