Beyoncé's fragrance Heat

I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I love Beyoncé's new perfume, Heat. After seeing the annoying "you give me fevahh" commercials over and over, I was curious to see how this stuff actually smelled. With celebs backing their own fragrances left and right, this is one to buy and enjoy.

The fragrance arrived in stores last month and has sold quite well. Heat is very feminine, and it's going to be a great edition to my spring scent repertoire. According to fragrantica.com, the notes include red vanilla-orchid, magnolia, neroli, peach, honeysuckle, almond and musky cream with sequoia wood, tonka and amber.

The price isn't too bad either - $49 for 1.7 fl. oz and $59 for 3.4 fl. oz. Duh, go with the bigger bottle for $10 more! It's available at Macy's. The red and orange glass bottle is quite pretty, too.

Polka polka polka dots

[shopbop.com]

There's just something about polka dots that says spring to me. I've seen all kinds of fabulous options from the expensive to the "can't afford not to buy it" affordable.

Prabal Gurung's 'Polka Dot Dress' ($1,425) from Shopbop.com is simply gorge. I love the classic black-and-white. You can really do a lot with this dress since the bow brooch is detachable and you can add the black belt. Or, you could always rent it from renttherunway.com for $200![neimanmarcus.com]

Nanette Lepore's 'Melt With U Polka Dot Top' ($248) is just precious. I adore the neon yellow color and the double-breasted buttons. [macys.com]

This 'Cotton Halter Dress with Large Polka Dots' by Jessica Simpson is $128 from Macy's. I like the bubble hem. I imagine wearing it to a horse race (think Julia Roberts' dress in Pretty Woman).

[topshop.com]

Topshop's 'Spot Frill Front Vest' ($55) is such a lovely coral color. Plus, I love the very British name that includes "spot" and "vest."

[forever21.com]

Forever 21's cute 'Sporadic Polka Dot Skirt' is a mere $9.80. What a bargain! I picture it with a crisp white shirt.

House of Harlow 1960 shades

[shopkitson.com][justjared.com]

Nicole Richie's House of Harlow 1960 sunglasses are available at Kitson. I really like them because they're quite Jackie O. Richie has been seen sporting them (see above photo). It cracks me up that they cover half of her face.

I've been wearing shades with a slight cat-eye, but I'm always a fan of an oversized pair. These black-and-gold glasses have gold double H logos on the temple. They're $125, which I think is pretty reasonable for sunglasses. Kitson says they're "masquerade mask inspired." Hmm, I guess they are about as big as a mask.

Sailor dressed

[all photos nordstrom.com]

Nautical stripes are where it's at this season. When I was in Nordstrom today, I drooled over Joie's 'Dawna Mariner Stripe Mini Dress' ($218). This silk dress is so fabulous, and it has a cute chest pocket on the front. I can see it with a denim jacket or even a brown belt. It's available in night sea (red and blue) or porcelain (white and blue). I need this dress to go on sale stat.
I also love this Oonagh by Nanette Lepore 'Martin Stripe Jersey Dress' ($128). It has a hood and a kangaroo pocket. I'm a big fan of Nanette Lepore so I'm loving her new line featuring simpler streetwear styles.

Watercolor shorts

[intermix.com]
[bloomingdales.com]

I like to wear shorts, and I've found two pretty watercolor pairs that are a nice break from the usual cut-offs or neutral colored shorts. Busting out the shorts in the spring can be iffy, so thank goodness for Jergens Natural Glow!

Intermix has Rosa Cha's wildly colored 'Bright Watercolor Floral Shorts' (on sale for $149 from $215). I also love Elizabeth and James's 'Printed Bubble Shorts' (on sale for $117.60 from $245). The soft blues and greens remind me a little of Rachel McAdams Elie Saab Oscar dress.

Beachy bargains

[nyandcompany.com]

Ahh, it's that time of year where beach season is on the horizon. Spring generally isn't really the best opportunity to stock up since prices are usually at their highest. I have found a few bargains that make me and my wallet happy.

New York and Company has some great cover-ups at great prices. I love the 'Check Print Caftan Swim Coverup' ($25.86) and the 'Mesh Leopard Caftan' ($25.86). Both are available in additional colors. Don't forget to look up coupon codes because they always have good ones.
[oldnavy.com]

Old Navy also has some great prices on swimsuits and cover-ups. Two of my faves are the 'Split Neck Gauze Tunic' ($19.50) and the 'Strapless Romper' ($24.50). There's something so nice about just throwing on a light, gauzey dress that doesn't cling after a day at the beach. The romper is so retro - I can totally see my grandma wearing back in the day.

[roxy.com]

Roxy is the queen of beachwear. The 'Airy Dress' ($49.50) is great because you could just as easily wear this gauze dress to the beach as you could out somewhere. It's also available in black and blush.
When I was in St. John, I almost bought the 'Hot Ticket Hat' ($26.50) at a surf shop. I wish I had because now I'm going to have to order it. It's cute and keeps the sun off your face.
[jcrew.com]

Another fabulous hat for the beach is the 'Panama Hat' ($58) from J.Crew. A hat is a must for me on the beach to keep my already plentiful freckles from multiplying.

Pretty Milly jewelry

[all photos neimanmarcus.com]

I've always been a fan of designer Michelle Smith's line Milly. The retro/preppy-chic clothing, especially her dresses, are so much fun. I'm loving her jewelry line just as much. I wouldn't say that the line is inexpensive, but it's certainly not too outrageously priced ($85-$325). Smith's newest jewelry venture recently hit stores including Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman and Shopbop.com.

The 'Aztec Feathers Carrie Earrings' ($150, above) are gorgeous! Normally I leave the red/green combos for Christmas décor, but these look amazing together.
The pieces are bold and colorful, which is perfect for spring. I'm an earring person, so I adore the dangly statement earrings. Hopefully they're not too heavy.
The above 'Layered Chain Necklace' ($185) and 'Golden Links Band' ($85) are two of my favorite pieces since gold goes so well with everything. View the Milly jewelry collection at Neiman Marcus here.

Lust: White heels

[bergdorfgoodman.com]

It seems that white shoes are chic again. I've always fought this trend hard as they always conjured up images of clunky, awkward white heels. I'm loving some of the options right now though.

The Kors Michael Kors 'Paris Sandals' in Parchment Croc ($358 from Bergdorf's) are gorge. These things are tall, so the ankle strap can't hurt for a little extra security. I also like that they're not white-white since (much like dirty snow) there's nothing worse than dirty white shoes.
[piperlime.com]

A more affordable pair from Piperlime is 'Parade' ($80) by Naughty Monkey. The brown straps are unexpected and cool. Again, the less white space for me to scuff up, the better. I'm picturing these with white cropped denim!

"The Bounty Hunter"

I saw The Bounty Hunter this past weekend. Gerard Butler's and Jennifer Aniston's recent films haven't been very successful (*cough* The Ugly Truth and Love Happens). Though this isn't a great movie, the two of them seem to have pretty good chemistry as a formerly married on-screen couple.

Newspaper reporter Nicole Hurley (Aniston) is arrested for a traffic violation. When she's about to scoop a major story, she misses her court appointment which causes her former cop, now bounty hunter, ex-husband Milo Boyd (Butler) to come after her. He's more than happy to track down his ex-wife since there are still some bad feelings over their divorce.

When Milo has Nicole in his custody, they realize that crooked policemen are after Nicole over what she knows about the murder story she was about to scoop. This is an adventurous rom-com, so you've probably guessed that these two end up remembering all of the good things about each other and why they were married in the first place.

I never saw Love Happens, but this was an improvement for Butler over the tacky Ugly Truth. Bottom line: wait for this one to come out on DVD.

LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's

[kohls.com]

I don't normally shop at Kohl's, but I had a gift card so that lured me in. I've been wanting to check out Lauren Conrad's new collection and see the spring collection of Simply Vera by Vera Wang. Wang's line definitely seems geared toward an older crowd. Celeb-designed lines can be a little iffy - we've learned that being fashionable doesn't always equal a good collection. Conrad actually has some cute items though.

Plus, I learned one thing about Kohl's - this place has some major bargains! Make sure to print online coupons before you go. Give them your e-mail address, and they'll send you a $5 off any purchase coupon.
I think that the 'Lace Skirt' ($29.99 - above, top) was my favorite piece in the collection. I like the back-tie sash. I'm all about pieces that can be worn to work and out. The belted 'Floral Chiffon Dress' ($39.99) and the 'Ruffled Skirt' ($29.99) in peach blush and birch are both so springy and could definitely be worn to work.

The 'Sequin Cardigan' ($39.99) can be worn now and then in the fall/winter months. The 'Boyfriend Blazer' ($39.99) in charcoal is a great buy. Since I already have a black one, it'd be nice to mix it up with gray. The 'Lace-Striped Tee' ($21.99) is cute and would be perfect with some black or denim shorts.

Green with envy

[shopbop.com]

In honor of St. Patrick's Day (my name does mean "Little Girl from Ireland" after all), I have picked some of my favorite green dresses out there right now from the pricey to the affordable. For me, St. Patty's Day signifies the start of the spring season, even if it's not technically until this Saturday - and green is the color of spring!

One of my favorite dresses is Alice + Olivia's 'Wrapped Goddess Dress' ($264) from shopbop.com. I love the army green color, and the way the jersey drapes. It also has an exposed side zipper. This dress was recently sported by Jenna Dewan, Mena Suvari and Annalyne McCord.
[forever21.com]

The Love 21 'Pleat Pintucked Silk Dress' ($29.50) by Forever 21 is such a pretty color, and the pintucks almost look like ruffles. A denim jacket would be perfect over it.[anthropologie.com]

Anthropologie's 'Gilded Garden Dress' ($328) by Leifsdottir (I love this brand!) is so fresh. My favorite features are the gold embroidered waistband and the side draping. [urbanoutfitters.com]

For the minimalist, Urban Outfitter's 'BDG Basic Knit Tank Dress' ($38) in bright green is about as simple as they come. This dress would look great with a jacket or cardi over it too.

[saksfifthavenue.com]

Catherine Malandrino's 'Couture Ruffle Sleeve Dress' ($495) from Saks is simply gorgeous. This is the perfect dress for a spring special occasion. [asos.com]

Miss Sixty's 'Tropical Floral Belted Mini Silk Mix Dress' ($162.39) from ASOS.com could definitely be worn throughout the spring and summer. The print is bright and fun. It could just as easily be paired with heels as it could sandals, which is important to me.

Florals anyone? Liberty of London for Target

[INF Daily]
[all other photos target.com]

England's Liberty of London collection for Target hit stores on Sunday. I'm about as impressed with the collection as I am with Jean-Paul Gaultier's recent Target collection - and that's not necessarily a good thing. There are a few things that I really like though.

The 'Boho Drop-Waist Ruffle Top' that Naomi Watts was wearing in NYC at the pop-up Target store is something that I would most definitely wear. It's $24.99, and it looks great how she's wearing it with leggings, colored flats and a blazer. The rest of the clothes are just mehhh.
I've been wanting a new beach cruiser, and this floral one is awfully fabulous. The '26" Ladies Cruiser - Garla' is already sold out online, but perhaps it's available at my local Target.
Some of their home stuff is cute too. The 'Sixty Melamine Platter' is also sold out online, but I think it'd be great for a party. The 'Dunclare Pink Dinner Plate Set' comes with eight 10.5" plates for $23.99.
